Michael Perini, CFA
FOUNDER & CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER
Michael has over 20 years of experience analyzing loans and structured credit securities. Michael founded Perini Capital in 2011. Perini Capital is focused on total return opportunities across the full spectrum of income generating assets related to residential and commercial real estate in both public and private credit markets. Perini Capital manages private funds, SMAs, and is the sub-advisor to the Catalyst / Perini Strategic Income Fund (ticker CSIOX). Prior to entering the financial services industry, he started his professional career as a minor league baseball player (1996-2002) for the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees organizations. Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Louisiana State University in 2004.
Alex Borlenghi
PORTFOLIO MANAGER, COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE
Alex is a portfolio manager focused on commercial real estate opportunities in both public and private credit markets. In addition, Alex is a member of the mortgage credit, special situations and private equity research and development team. Prior to joining Perini Capital in 2021, he spent almost 8 years at The Interfin Companies analyzing, investing in, and developing commercial real estate projects across the US. Alex graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Corporate Communications and holds a Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management Certificate from Cornell University.
Giorgio Borlenghi
SENIOR ADVISOR, COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE
Giorgio is a senior advisor focused on commercial real estate opportunities in both public and private credit markets. Giorgio founded the Interfin Companies based in Houston, Texas following a successful development career in Italy. Significant projects include Four-Leaf Towers, Four Oaks Place, Uptown Park, Villa D’Este Condominium, Montebello, Vintage Park, Hotel Granduca, and Belfiore. He has served on numbers boards including Houston Ballet, Houston Endowment, Museum of Fine Arts, and University of St. Thomas. He is also a licensed structural engineer in Europe. In addition, Giorgio was Knighted by Pope John Paul II as Knight of the Holdy Sepulcher and separately Knighted by the President of Italy.
Jim Harris
MORTGAGE RESEARCH
Jim has over 22 years experience in the analysis of loans and trading of structured credit securities. Prior to joining Perini Capital in 2013, Jim led non-Agency RMBS credit trading at The Seaport Group (2008-2013), a New York based investment bank, as part of a group that specializes in the analysis and trading of credit sensitive RMBS and asset-backed securities (ABS). Earlier experience includes trading non-Agency RMBS for Jefferies (2006-07), Cantor Fitzgerald (2004-06), and Amherst Securities Group (2003-04). He graduated from Princeton University in 2002.
Brent Todd
OPERATIONS ANALYST
Brent is an Operations Analyst at Perini Capital. He joined the firm in 2020 to help manage the trade confirmation, settlement, daily position reconciliation processes, and portfolio reporting. He graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance in 2022. From 2011 to 2015, Brent was a direct sales consultant for Protection 1 and SolarCity. Between 2015 and 2020, he owned and operated a professional transportation company.
Justin Long
PINE ADVISORS: OUTSOURCED CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Justin is Director of Compliance for PINE’s Adviser Compliance Support Services team, providing ongoing compliance services and serving as Adviser CCO for SEC-registered investment advisory firms. Justin has over eight years of experience in compliance, operations, and relationship management. Justin received a bachelor’s in Political Science and Computer Science from the University of Alabama and earned in JD from Elon University School of Law.
